Biography

Lynnaea Lumbard, Ph.D., is a transformational psychologist, Interfaith Minister, Wilderness Guide, community weaver, sacred activist and writer. She is President of New Stories, a non-profit educational organization based on Whidbey Island, WA. Dedicated to offering transformational resources for an emergent evolutionary culture, New Stories sponsors leading-edge social ventures including the Whidbey GeoDome Project, Thrive Napa Valley, Resilient Japan and the Great Transition Stories Wiki.

Since the mid-1970‘s, Lynnaea has been a seminar leader in the field of spiritual psychology and conscious evolution. In the early 1980’s she became a Director of the Institute for the Study of Conscious Evolution in San Francisco. From 1986-96, she co-founded and directed Temenos Associates, a national workshop company offering a wide range of consciousness trainings in the Bay Area, New England, New York and Washington, D.C. From 1995-2005 she served both as minister and board member for All Season’s Chalice Church in Boulder, CO, developing and sustaining a spiritual community offering seasonal celebrations at the StarHouse. Also In 1995, she co-founded Naos Foundation with her husband, Rick Paine, guiding wilderness quests and co-creating a four-year Mystery School based on the Native American Medicine Wheel.

Since 1991 she has been engaged in social change philanthropy, funding key projects for a whole systems paradigm shift towards a collaborative, compassionate, creative future. She has served many boards including the Threshold Foundation, the Tipping Point Network and Opus Archives and Research Center on the campuses of Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, CA, where she created grant programs to mine the depth psychological and mythological archives in support of a New Mythos.
